"We cannot recommend The Old Mill Dog Retreat enough! Our dog, Bruno, has stayed with them a couple of times and he has absolutely loved it. Jo and her husband Doug are incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. Bruno is a very anxious dog but settled in so quickly and felt right at home in their welcoming environment. It's heart-warming to see how Bruno has made best friends with Missy & Rolo and the freedom he gets to roam around their home and enclosed space is fantastic. The added love and care for Bruno received by being part of Jo's family during his stay is truly special. We are so grateful for the peace of mind knowing Bruno is in such loving and capable hands. Thank you Jo and family, for providing such a wonderful place for Bruno!

"Dougie absolutely loved his stay with Jo & her family. He was treated like part of their family from the second he met them. Jo updated us daily on Dougie, sending lovely photos & videos of him having the best tme! We were worried he wouldn't want to come home! Jo looked after Dougie so well, the communication was brilliant & we felt at ease whilst we were away. Would highly recommend!

'Luna had the pleasure of staying with Joanne and her family while we were away for a long weekend in London. We had a wonderful, relaxed meet and greet a week before which allowed Luna to explore the garden and house and meet both of Joanne's friendly dogs as well as giving me the chance to ask any questions and get to see where she would be staying. On drop off day, Luna saw Joanne and bounded in without a look back! We had daily updates and photos of how she was getting on and enjoying her own holiday! It was so reassuring to know she was safe and comfortable. Collection of Luna was just as easy and she even got a doggy bag of treats to come home! Couldn't recommend Joanne and family enough! We know Luna was in the best hands! Thank you! She will definitely be coming to stay again!

"The best of the best, if you want pure professionalism and true love for your canine look no further. Jo at The Old Mill Dog Retreat was the best find I could have ever come across. Wendy absolutely loves going to stay there and I always feel at ease when we go away. Nothing is too much trouble, and she always updates me with photos of her having the best time. Wendy even came home with homemade treats which was the perfect little touch to her stay, I wouldn’t chose any where else to look after our Pup, thank you Jo for the best care xxxxx"

"Wow, what can I say? Thank you so much Jo and family! My dog is absolutely my shadow, but he happily goes off with Jo, plays with her dogs and is like part of the family when he is there. I always worry about people looking after him but i honestly know he is having the best time and being so well looked after, i get regular updates which is super reassuring and as an anxious dog owner it is so good to finally find somewhere i can sleep easy knowing he is there! "The Old Mill Dog Retreat provided a home for our Spaniel, Darcey, whilst we went on our Road Trip to France. Joanne constantly provided updates on her wellbeing during her stay from day 1 to day 15. We received photos and videos of walks she had been on and it was very reassuring and made a real difference to our trip. The Old Mill Dog Retreat provided a home from home environment for Darcey that is embraced by the whole family. We couldn't of asked for anymore and will certainly use their services again, we can thoroughly recommend them and would have no hesitation in awarding 5 stars. Thank you for looking after her x"

"Our Springer Spaniel spent a lovely week with Jo and her family at The Old Mill Dog Retreat. It was wonderful to go on holiday feeling confident that our dog would be happy and in safe hands. Jo sent us updates and photos of her every day, and we could see she was completely relaxed and content. Jo (and her family) spent lots of time with her, and when we went to collect her it was obvious that they had formed a warm bond. Jo told me that she knew all was OK at night, because she had a camera on the room she was sleeping in, and even went down to her the first night to check, when she got up for a drink of water. That is real dedication! Jo is a natural dog lover and understands their language - I would highly recommend the Old Mill Dog Retreat as a brilliant place to leave your beloved dogs when you have to. We will be back."

"Well what a beautiful little find The Old Mill dog retreat. From our first meet and greet with both Jo and Doug, Oscar was made to feel totally at ease and like one of the family as were we. A lot of time and care has gone into the old mill retreat which could be seen not only by the beautiful homely surroundings but by the way Jo treated and interacted with Oscar. He was introduced to the other dogs at the meet gradually which we were a little more than sceptical about, but under the watchful eye of Jo it went really well. With regular updates and pictures being sent we knew we made the right choice in choosing the old mill as Oscars home for the week. Thank you to all your family for being Oscars new family for the week. We will be back and will be recommending you.to anyone that needs a home from home experience."

"Louis has anxiety separation so we cannot leave him, we had tried day care previously but it was a very negative experience. We then found Jo and it has been a game changer, she is so kind,patient & lovely with Louis that we are able to leave him with her, knowing he is happy & part of the family. We are currently doing regular day care building up to boarding in the future. We wish we had found The Old Mill dog retreat earlier, Louis loves Jo & has great fun playing with Rolo & Missy and we feel happy about leaving him there."

"I felt very happy leaving Pearl and Pepper at the Old Mill Dog Retreat. There were regular updates and photos from Joanne showing them looking relaxed in this home from home environment. They seemed to have had as much of a holiday as we did! Nothing appeared to be too much trouble to help them settle in-which they obviously did very quickly! "Jo recently looked after our two Airedale’s for a fortnight. They are not the easiest breed to care for as they are very headstrong and lively. We were delighted to see them settle in so quickly as Jo kept us informed daily with info and photos, this was so reassuring. On returning we even had two clean dogs,as Jo had washed them! Staying at Jo’s is home from home for dogs and we would recommend Jo as she is so organised and professional."

My dogs are now old boys and come with a list of medical issues and anxieties but nothing phased her and she accommodated them so well.
